The Apple Tablet is finally here, the official name: iPad. Everybody is talking about it, and there’s a lot of info around the web, so I’ll just highlight a few features and try to be brief.
It is basically an iPhone with a large screen, a 9.7 inches screen.
Like the iPhone it has a Multi-Touch display and uses a built-in accelerometer.
It’s the first device to use Apple’s mobile processor A4.
The OS is almost the same as the iPhone’s, there’s no multitasking, which means that, like men, only can handle one task at a time.
The browser doesn’t support Flash, so we’ll see a lot of empty video boxes while surfing the net.
You can run iPhone’s Apps on it, and like the iPhone only runs apps from the iTunes Store.
New e-book store in iTunes, the app to read them in the tablet: iBooks.
No USB.
No camera, just microphone and speakers.
Comes with a 16, 32 and 64gb flash memory.
From $499 to $829 usd.
On the bright side: it’s really fast, or at least a lot faster than the iPhone 3GS.
It’s an iPhone wannabe Netbook, but it’s neither in the end. Maybe it’s just a fancy reader.
The Wi-Fi version ships in 60 days, the 3G version in 90.
