As augmented reality becomes the next big thing in social technology evolution, artist Keiichi Matsuda made this short film on the subject.
Here’s the author’s description of the film:
A film produced for my final year Masters in Architecture, part of a larger project about the social and architectural consequences of new media and augmented reality.
It seems that augmented reality has become, well a reality, as there are already games and software based on it. Below, an example of an augmented reality app for Android, called Shop Savvy. The app uses the smartphone’s camera to recognize products from real life, and after rendering the image, it offers the user all kind of info about the product, like it’s price, nearest place to buy it, reviews, etc. It’s really stunning…
Finally, here’s the short film…
